Leaning

The two young people at the next table were both studying. They were leaning in opposite directions. I must have de-emphasized the tilt on the female figure and over emphasized the tilt of the male figure.  The composition works anyway.

Poirot Montage

I like to doodle when I watch shows on television. I like Agatha Christie’s Poirot. Some of my doodles are quick, blind*, portraits from a screen shot that has long since dissipated from the screen.   *Done without looking.

New Storefront

In preparation for closing, the liquidation company has taken over. Big signs are the most noticeable manifestation that something new is afoot.

Break Room

Today I worked at one of my jobs, the first long-term position I landed since I moved out here. I had been weaning myself away from it in favor of another that has more potential. I’m happy I did so: the job I worked today has been weaning itself away from me! It will close […]

Two Studying Together

Red Nurse Studying

One of the Star Trek (The Next Generation) episodes has a scene in which all the operating room (OR) staff are wearing red uniforms. I thought this was odd since it would be hard to see blood stains. It might be handy to see blood stains on clothing worn in the OR to warn staff […]

Fall Remnant

Although it is spring, I found this colorful leaf on the asphalt. It must have held onto its tree until the bitter end. Or perhaps it is a Cheshire person all but disappeared, except for the lips.

Faded Mondrian

I found another Mondrian in the wild, the other day. Another addition to my collection: Mondrian Composition 300 CRY, Mondrian 300, Found Art- Mondrian Rug, Mondrian 002 OXY, Found Art In Situ, More Found Art, Found Art.

Old Man, Young Woman

This is a partially-inked pencil sketch of an older man concentrating on a good book, and a young woman intent on her studies. The cafe is a great place for the mind. And coffee.
