The bold application of purple overwhelmed the original slim, wavy red and blue brushstrokes. I like the enveloping light blue washes that provide balance to the central tangle.
The aimless scribble with which I began this piece turned into half of the tragedy-comedy mask (the smiley half). This is a mask that can be worn with ribbons.
Today I experimented with layers of watercolor washes. I soaked the whole paper with water and streaked red, yellow and blue onto different areas.
