Remember When?

There were days, long ago, when many people believed the sentiment in the sign above the nightclub, pictured below.  I’m not talking about noise. I mean the thought that someone would write a congressman to expect a solution to a problem.  That thought, more than 25 years later is laughable.

Moon-Tac-Toe

I always find something interesting when I look at the sky. I’m not sure if the white cloudy-looking lines are clouds or contrails of jet planes. Whatever they are, they created a partition for the moon. I see a partially-completed tic-tac-toe board with the moon filling in the upper right square.  I’m sure there are […]

Free the Mulch!

I don’t care if mulches are private or public they should all be free. Actually, I think mulch is singular as well as plural, like moose and moose. Therefore, I rephrase: all mulch should be freed to roam as they please. There should be a collective plural to name the entity that occurs when two […]

Reason for Road Trip

For the past couple of days (see View and View – Update) I’ve posted photos of views from hotel windows.  Joy and I don’t usually stay in hotels, but we traveled down south to Burbank and points south for a special reason: Our daughter Sarah’s wedding! It was a real Mickey Mouse operation. Everyone had […]

View – Update

Yesterday, I presented the ‘mountain view’ from the hotel room in which we are staying. I’m sure the staff member who told us about the spectacular view was sincere. Being the curious type, I took the glass-encased elevator to the top, to see what was beyond the garage wall that was our view from the 6th […]

View

We were promised a mountain view by the hotel staff. They neglected to say that a parking garage is interposed between the mountain and the window from our hotel room at the level of the 6th floor. Perhaps it is a mountain view on one of the higher floors from which we were demoted.

Promised?

At first glance this sign looks to be an exhortation to all who happen by with writing implements. Upon closer reading, it appears as if the building owner is addressing a specific person or persons. Note that the sign writer said “I promised”; ‘promised’ is in the past tense. The building owner already promised not to […]

Tagging at the Dumpster

This time I was the photographer and the graffiti artist! It was at the end of my shift. I don’t know how many times I told my colleagues, “Do not put open liquid containers in the garbage.”  They never listen to me. I must have forgotten this fact because, after I swung the garbage bag into […]
