Vintage Photo: Draped Bust, NYC 1988
It’s been more than 10 years since I moved away from New York City. I used to take the subway all the time, but I can’t, for the life of me remember the subway line which allowed sunlight into its 79th Street Station.
Back in the days of black and white, when I was a tyke, my grandmother took me to the automat. I love the art deco stainless steel on the Dine-O-Mat. This wasn’t the way I remembered the one my grandma took me to, but it made me nostalgic anyway.
This photo brings back fond memories of street fairs in New York City. The gentleman pictured below frequented many of these gatherings. He played the old big band tune, Stardust, on the trumpet and accompanied himself on the piano.
This was before plastic was dangerous to be under.
