This is the colorized version of the pen and ink sketch I posted a couple of days of ago.
This is the first of 8 sketches I started. It is on the top sheet of a cold pressed watercolor block, therefore the surface is more textured than the smooth Bristol paper I was using on the sketches I recently posted.
This is a preliminary pen and ink of a photo I took at the amusement park on Coney Island. I haven’t figured out exactly how to paint the dramatic sky from the photo without overpainting the intricate structure of the roller coaster.
I inked this from a photo I took in Lower Manhattan. There were a lot of apartments in warehouses down there. I plan to add a bit of color to this.
