I nailed the wash today. It may not seem so from the photo of today’s composition, but there is clearly a gradual progression from the warm English yellow at the top of composition to the cool lemon yellow at the bottom.
Yesterday, I made my two straight line forms cross; today, they are separated. I used my compass to draw arcs with different centers of origin, around the both sides of each line of color. I used my French curve to draw a wave-like form (again, inspired by yesterday’s watercolor). One could construct a less forceful wave if one connects the dots present on the lower portion of this study.
Finally, I needed a linear element to counterbalance the color-filled figures, so I animated the lone purple dot with squiggly ink lines.
The arrangement of visual elements suggested no narrative to this piece, thus we have Abstract 033116.

I’m liking these bright yellows. (K)
Thank you, Kerfe. I appreciate that. They seem to be working out, indeed.
