More Pedestrian Concerns

Getting more and more back to my pre-flu self. Did an errand today. While I was away, back in New Jersey, my wife, Joy (in California) told me that one of the warning lights came on in the car. It was only a reminder to change the oil, so I wasn’t too panicked. Since I was feeling better, I made an appointment with the dealer so I wouldn’t have to wait too long.

It has been a while since I’ve had to wait. I’ve certainly been resting, which is not exactly waiting. Probably the best way to characterize my time at the car dealer is to say it was ‘resting with a purpose’.

While I was waiting I lapsed into my old habit of sketching my surroundings. I only had my ink pen with me, so all the marks I put on the paper were permanent.  After my car was ready, which required about an hour of constructive waiting, my sketch was done.

I came home, did some other chores and toward the end of the day, watercolor tinted my sketch.

I wouldn’t exactly call this a watercolor painting. It is primarily a sketch, journal entry, a memory jogger of my time waiting for my car to be rejuvenated.
