Suffering Succulent

Last fall I bought a succulent from the garden section of one of those all-purpose stores. It was unlike any other plant I had ever seen. The leaves were thick and meaty and covered with fuzz, like pieces of velvet.

I transferred it to a clay pot and set it outside. I didn’t think to take it in when the temperature dipped below freezing a couple of times during the winter. That was dumb because it froze.

Below is my watercolor/pen & ink of the near-skeletal remains of my formerly fuzzy plant.
