I’m beginning to realize that I have a modus operandi in my approach to painting abstract watercolors. I start with a jumble of brush strokes. I then see what the mess suggests. If nothing visual strikes my eye, I look at it intellectually. For example, I could use my mind’s eye to imagine complimentary colors in the mix, or the addition of a geometric element to balance (or unbalance) the composition.
I like the challenge. I like the results of today’s experiment especially.
