It is difficult for me to make interesting sketches of people in profile. In sketches where the scene includes more context, I get good results with a vague outline of a person’s profile, paying more attention to the rest of the image. I think I could have done a better drawing today if I focused on the face alone by parsing the contour of the outline into its component arcs. Shading of features within the outline (i.e., temple, cheek, chin and neck) would make the sketch more interesting. This is not something I can do quickly, at the moment.
