After Miró – Prelude

I love the work of Joan Miró. I would also love to emulate his work but, I have not yet come across any writings that detail his methods. Paul Klee left several volumes of writings summarizing his teachings at the famous Bauhaus. I don’t think it likely that Miró wrote anything like that, so I will rely on writings about his work by art historians and other experts.

I’ve read a little bit about Miró’s The Farmpainted in 1922 and purchased by none other than Ernest Hemingway. The Farm is an homage to Miró’s home in Catalan. It is arranged in a grid, wherein many important symbols of his life at that time, are arranged. Miró noted that this painting represents a summary of his life on the farm.

I can do that!

Below is my first attempt at creating and arranging symbols from my life on my original homestead (suburbia, not a farm).  For now, the arrangement is haphazard, and the symbology is not completely developed, but I see an interesting path ahead in pursuing this goal.
