I saw this graffiti in May of 1991 on a walk through SoHo in New York City. SoHo stands for ‘South of Houston’, where ‘Houston’ is pronounced ‘How-Stun’, unlike the city in Texas. When I moved away from NYC, SoHo was becoming an upscale shopping area. I wonder how much graffiti still adorns the side streets.

Not much…anywhere. My daughter was looking at a photo from 1996 with all the graffiti, and said she couldn’t even remember it being like that (she was 12 then). Very different.
Well I’m happy that I was able to preserve some of it, at least.

Yes, I was fond of some of it myself. That’s how Basquiat got started.
Love the blasts from the past. Funny how we miss it now almost like cutting out part of the culture of nyc. Too bad it all snuffed out
There ought to be a graffiti museum!
