I know the 4th of July was a couple of days ago, but the ringing in my ears is only now subsiding. My car alarm went off several times when the concussion of the larger explosions tripped the motion sensors.
I painted fields of colors to start today’s watercolor experiment. I splashed water on them before they completely dried, since I love to watch the color give way to the bloom of the fresh water. Likewise, I added drops of pigment to observe its outward circular progress, weaving its way through the grain of the paper.
It was a lovely sight. However, just like the smoky sky after the fireworks, the threads of pigment and clear water faded to dull smudges.
