As with yesterday’s painting, I also made today’s painting a day before the US election. Its colors are on the red end of the spectrum. I suspect that most of my paintings in the foreseeable future will be more toward the cooler blue end. Not for any political reasons, but rather to portray the emotional imbalance I feel.
I can’t comment much further I fear, without devolving into a rant about the awful prospects of the future of my country and the rest of the world. [Note – It was really difficult to cut myself short here. I am just so angry about being the world’s laughingstock… ]
I wonder if my paintings will change from here forward. I will try to embargo myself from the news and concentrate on what is important to me, even thought the outside world has suddenly become orders of magnitude more dangerous.
Despite the circumstances influencing this painting, I do really respond positively to your brushstrokes, colors and the fact that your end result reflects freedom and ease. Do you ever paint in oils?
We are an embarassment to the world, except perhaps Russia.

Thanks again, Petra.
I have been stocking up on oil painting supplies while gathering the courage to give it a try.
Where can I see some of your work?
I hope we don’t take the rest of the world down with us, although many other societies seem to be circling the drain as well.
Best,
Jack
