Review – Two Different Emotions

Last February, working with old photographs I took of my brother Mike,* I created a couple of ‘action’ portraits.

Although it doesn’t look like it, the painting below captures Mike in the middle of a hearty belly laugh. I don’t know what he thought was funny, but his laugh made me feel really good. (Originally posted on February 7, 2014, Change of Pace -Slightly.)

On February 6, 2014, I outlined my process of converting one of my photos to a painting (see From Photograph to Abstract Expression). Mike was in the middle of one of his self injurious behaviors (see Complex Motor Tics?).
