I started reading about my favorite artist (Paul Klee) again recently. Paul Klee’s elemental theory of creativity is that “[I]t is imperative that the artwork embody not merely the form that appearances assume, but the forming by which it is installed.” according to John Sallis in his essay, “Klee’s Philosophical Vision”(1).
Although the meaning of this theory is not completely clear to me at this point, I started thinking about how new ideas come into being. Most living things originate from ova. The sunny-side up egg came to mind. I took that metaphor a little further, giving the yolk grounding in roots and emitting sparks of ideas on its top side.
