Leaf Fragment

The other day I noticed something on my shirt. I thought maybe it was a crumb from breakfast, an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato. (Sorry, got carried away…)

It was actually a small fragment of a leaf. I should have taken a picture of it, but it was tiny, balanced on the tip of my finger. I liked its structure, a history of leaf colors in mosaic form.

My memory of that fragment is below. I added the blue rectangle to represent a window on the outdoors.
