Broken Heart

I painted this (and named it) before the election. At this point, I don’t know the final outcome, but the fact that the race is so close just breaks my heart, not to mention the unimaginable prospects for the future.

  1. Oh my goodness!!! 😫 What a sad and dark day this is for the world, as it has been the whole year – look at Brexit. Let us wish, that whoever is on the side of this numb and ignorant person „ruling“ America is wise enough, to prevent him in whatever he said he will do once he’s president. Instead of going forward – this is really a major step back.

    • Agreed. Very dark indeed. The other shoe will drop when new policies are implemented and fail. Scapegoating will follow as is the final refuge of bigotry, and the US will devolve.
      Very sad day indeed.

  2. Oh this captures my feelings so aptly. I am still in shock, disbelief at what has happened and what the future holds. Sad that a pathological liar, so expedient and racist is being rewarded with the highest reward possible. I shudder to think what will happen to gay rights, abortion access, minorities, women, Muslim…amd climate change. Oh what a sad day indeed.

On a brighter note you are an impressive expressive colorist!

    • Agree 100%. I deleted my news app. So upsetting. Now we have an armed bunch of racists with tacit license to bully and harass. Remind you of any other historic period? Who will be the scapegoats when their policies fail. I’m glad I’m as old as I am.
As you mention, there is a bright note. Without my news app, fewer distractions.

Thank you again for your kind words.
      Best,
      Jack
