I started with the idea of applying a set of rules to determine where to draw the branches and how long to make them. I abandoned that idea as restrictive and not that interesting. For the remainder of the ‘trees’ I drew the branches in a way that seemed pleasing to me. [Note: the growth of real trees and leaves is governed by rules set by their genes.]
