Today I began with a pen and ink sketch of a photo of green leaves and overlaid it with another ink sketch of tree bark. I’m not sure where the thought came from, but the next step was to make blue watercolor drip traces from the top of the image. This echoed nicely with the texture a line of the tree bark. Each step in this creative process inspired the next, resulting in an image of inter-related elements. The final image seems to portray the ancient idea of the four elements: earth, fire, water and air. This was unexpected.

I like this one very much and I also was interested in how you described the creation process. I think that is such a great feeling, to go along with where an artwork takes you.
I agree. I am happy that I hit on this process and that it yields unexpected results.
