I don’t remember exactly where this was, but I was struck by all the signage. The painted signs on the buildings of NYC were windows to the past (some were painted around actual windows). In the 1980s and 90s, when I lived there, they fascinated me. I don’t know if mural fever took over in New York as it has in LA. I do hope some of those anachronistic signs are still around.
