I used to eat at the Chirping Chicken on 1st Avenue at 21st Street (as I recall). Through the front window, around lunchtime, there were 2 dozen or more whole chickens on the enormous grill. More interesting, visually, was the view around the corner. the huge duct and the old fashioned garbage cans make for an interesting street scene.
