Parentheses came to mind as I was trying to identify the visual element that attracted me to this street chair. Although the idea of a chair being cozy and welcoming is consistent with the ‘hugging’ quality of parentheses (especially three of them), other punctuation marks could characterize this armchair quite differently. For example, one could visualize a hybrid quotation mark (with three marks instead of two) that would emphasize an imposing quality of the chair’s occupant: The I’m-sitting-HERE nature of the man or woman in the seat. Another blended punctuation could be formed by adding dots under the curved marks: leading triple exclamation marks followed by a trailing threesome of question marks. However, the first set cancels the second, unless someone or something blocks one of the chair’s arms.

I feel like the whole thing is underlined (with that dark section across the bottom) for emphasis! This chair is speaking all right.
Yes! The underline could turn the triple marks into eyebrows, which would bring the sidewalk marks into the conversation.
Thanks, Claudia!
