This is Gusgus, aka Doublegus, aka Gussy. Her expressiveness is limited to meowing and growling and, oh yes, hissing. Meows are for getting attention. She growls when she is irritated (i.e., if she doesn’t like the way she is being petted). Her growls go away as soon as the offensive petting behavior (OPB) stops. Hissing ensues if OPB continues. She used to include shredding of the petting hand along with the hissing, but has mellowed of late.

Opinionated. (K)
Thanks, Kerfe. Actually, I mis-labeled this one. She is Shiba, Gus’s sister. But yes, she knows what she wants (and doesn’t want).
Cats don’t worry if people like them or not.
True. They like being petted (most of them), but they can take it or leave it.
Knows who she is all right!
Thanks, Claudia. Like I told Kerfe, this kitty is Shiba, Gus’s sister, who is much more subdued. Gus does know what she doesn’t like and stops growling immediately when the offending behavior ceases.
