Meditation Series: (2/8) Watching the Parking Lot in LA 2021

This is a tough one. There was a lot going on visually in the original photo of this Los Angeles street scene. There is the building facade, composed of windows and awnings and a facade of a person on the blank faced of the building facing the parking lot. That face is obscured by a leafy tree. In this, the second variation of the original scene, I had to squeeze in the business end of the parking lot: the roof of the hut, and red arrow, pointing to the parking lot. I had no room in this format for the rest of the booth. There is a lot of room for more experimentation in this series.

  1. How interesting! When I first saw this drawing I thought you had projected your own face into the drawing, a kind of surreal statement about the art of observation. It still works, even though unintentional.
