Abstract experience:
I was looking at Mark Rothko’s red piece from 1956 or 1957.
Rothko did what he did to emphasise the feelings involved.
He said “If you’re getting off on colour – you are missing the point”
[or he was saying it about art critics – in that case the “they” would be put in].
Thanks Adelaide. I reduced the bicycles to one wheel each. the street sign turned into the slanted line that seems to pierce a cardboard box, which bleeds (unintended when I drew it). But, as with all art, it is what it is to each viewer.
