I began this piece water-soluble ink, sketching the woody islands of a particularly craggy bark from a young tree. After flicking water on it from an old tooth brush, the inky lines darkened and some ran down the paper. I used the outlines of the texture units to contain the colors. The end result reminds me of a stained glass window.
