This is a detail of the original theme sketch. I spent much time on the lettering, only to misspell ‘clock’ (can you believe it?). So I did my best to smudge out the permanent ink. I ended up making the whole sign look old and smudgy, as a sort of camouflage. Other than that, I enjoyed discovering the ‘Now Open’ sign that I hadn’t noticed before.
