I have difficulty with portraits where the subject is only partially facing me. Most of the features on the far side of the face are hidden, and must be rendered as isolated lumps or bumps, with no visible connection to those which are visible.

I like this. You have an interesting expression on your face.
Thanks, Claudia. The expression on the reference photo is also interesting (although different from that of the sketch). I wonder how that happens.
Well, if you are me, it happens a lot, I mean the photo says one thing and I draw another. I have also wondered why I do this, or why it happens, and I think there is some point in the drawing where my mind or whatever sort of just takes over and draws it as it sees it, which is not how my eyes see it. This tendency has cropped up in me all my life, say, in sewing clothes, as much as I tried to follow the pattern it did not happen. Personally I think it is a positive thing (most of the time, not so good if I wanted my clothes to fit…)
Yeah, creativity has its limits in clothing design. Technique, style, vision and artistic expression has a lot to do with the look of created reality. Unless one strives for creating hyper-real piece, one sees the hand of the artist.
