Here’s a quick watercolor/charcoal/pencil sketch of my brother Dave’s hands. It is a wonderful experience watching his hands in action at the piano. I would love to do a series of detailed drawings and paintings of his hands frozen at different times during a performance.
I like your work. Wondering if you know of a blog or group or someplace where aspiring beginners can post their work for critique and advice from fellow artists?
Thank you l&l! I would say that the best thing to do is to connect with a local group (i.e., watercolor society or other art group) for face-to-face instruction and/or critique. Blogs are pretty much hit or miss. Best of luck!
Yeah. I thought so, too. I’m an old guy, recently retired from teaching math and computer science. Currently taking (auditing, actually) a basic drawing class at the local college. My work is poor, but I’m having the time of my life trying.
Yeah. Welcome to the ranks of us retired. Just keep drawing and drawing. That’s the ticket.
