Today I experimented with another type of frisket (liquid latex that, when dried, resists watercolor paint). I dripped little perfect circles at different places, then drew larger circles with a compass. I washed the paper with lemon yellow except for the partial circle at the lower left. I overpainted most of the yellow with a dark indanthrone blue except for the large circle on the right side.
I like the contrast between the small yellow and orange circles and the dark blue background. I consider this piece a rough sketch. I must figure out a way to get a uniform dark background and keep the contrast.
Getting there is half the fun.
I love this one. Beautiful! 🙂
Thanks, Dr. V.
