Today’s watercolor experiment:
Just around the corner from my favorite newsstand (now defunct) I came across an interesting scene behind Grand Central Station in New York City. I love the girders punctuated with rivets. I have been looking around for an old Erector Set™ to build my own, but these days, however everything is made out of plastic. Yuk! I wish I knew the term for that spiral flourish connecting the column with the thing it is supporting. I love that riveted deco look.
This is what I came across behind Grand Central (48th Street):
I don’t remember if the stenciled graffiti was a temporary panel or a more permanent fixture. But anything graffiti-esque qualifies for my New York Graffiti series.
Here are a couple of photos from my foray behind Grand Central:
Love it (as usual). Different. N.
Thanks, N.
I reached my goal of 2 dozen of each format with this post. Tomorrow I round it out and then on to the next horizon.
I appreciate your unwavering support. It means a lot to me.

Kerfe here. What a wonderful series of paintings! I will be sorry to see the end, but I know the feeling of needing to move on. I do hope you will sell a few to us! I would love to own one.
Absolutely, Kerfe! If you and Nina have any preferences please let me know. I’m not sure if my email is listed on the blog. If so, send me a message. If not I’ll send you my email in the next comment. Thank you so much for your support!

I don’t see any “contact” on the blog although it seems to me I’ve used it to contact a few people on other blogs…perhaps I’m just missing it. It will be hard to choose!
I’ve been trying to find a way to add ‘contact’ to my menu. Will find it eventually. Until then, you both can reach me at davisbrotherlylove@gmail.com
Thanks again, Kerfe & Nina
Thanks! Email sent.
Thank you!
Just to add that I too would love to own one of your pieces. This thread is serendipitous as I was meaning to ask you whether you have them displayed in a gallery/website somewhere to make choosing easier?! Liz
Thank you Liz! A website is my goal but I can do a ‘retrospective’ post showing all the sketches. Will be pulling that together. Great idea. Thank you so much for your support and your feedback on my artist’s statement.
Best,
J
I love your blog and the way you write! Please check mine out, I am new around here 🙂
Thank you Caro. You have a good start on your blog. I love your list!
