Last Night’s Dream

It was a good one. I was in the apartment of an old bearded man who was teaching me something of great value. I don’t remember what it was. As I left, walking down a narrow stairway, I realized I had forgotten to ask him something. When I turned around, he had already shut the door.

Now outside, I was in totally unfamiliar surroundings. It was in my city, but no place I had ever seen. The narrow streets were paved with cobblestones and the buildings where made of small gray bricks. A horse and carriage thundered past me before I could get my camera out. I wanted to show my wife what I was seeing.

Everything was fascinating. The upper parts of the buildings were lit up to reveal wonderful colors and beautiful architecture. By this time I had my camera, but could not frame the scene properly.

Below is a visual summary of some of the images in my dream. I could not do justice to the images in my head, which persist even now, but only as a feeling, and a non-visual one at that.
